My gorgeous friend Christy came from the other end of the state to stay and visit over the weekend of July 28th. Despite the somewhat cloudy weather on Saturday, we hopped in a 2-man kayak and ventured around the harbor! We weren't especially good at it, so probably won't be qualifying for any Olympic Kayaking teams anytime soon. Is there some sort of art to going STRAIGHT? We spent much of the journey trying to rationalize how we could be paddling at the same rate but be swimming constantly to the left! A few of the uppity yachts thought we were playing chicken with them. Oh well, we eventually reached our destination...which I believe is affectionately known as "Dead Man's Island". This could refer to the broken down old boat sitting just outside of a lighthouse. Or maybe it's because our arms were so sore from getting there that we were meant to die on that island and never make it back! Nevertheless, Christy was a great sport as I used her for a model once we'd gotten there. I think these turned out fantastic--she's a beautiful girl with warm and friendly eyes. I'm so lucky to have her for a friend!
